Pain Management in
Bucks County

Chronic pain touches almost every part of daily life, from work and sleep to time with family. At PA Pain & Spine Institute, our board-certified pain specialists offer pain management in Bucks County, with two offices in Chalfont and Quakertown. Above all, our team tries non-surgical, minimally invasive options first. As a result, each patient gets a care plan built around the true cause of the pain.

A pain management visit may help if you have:

✅ Back, neck, or spine pain that limits daily life
✅ Leg or arm pain, numbness, tingling, or burning
✅ Joint or nerve pain that rest and medicine have not eased
✅ Pain that returns after past treatment or surgery
✅ Symptoms that make walking, standing, or sleeping hard

Understanding Pain Management

Pain management is a field focused on finding and treating the source of pain, not just the symptoms. In most cases, chronic pain has a clear cause, such as a worn disc, a pinched nerve, or a sore joint. So an accurate diagnosis comes first. Then our team builds a plan that starts with the gentlest option likely to help.

Our approach stays careful and conservative. First, we use non-surgical care when we can. Next, we turn to advanced steps only when a patient needs them. In fact, this order helps many people avoid open surgery. For people across Bucks County, both offices share the same doctors, the same procedures, and the same evidence-based care.

The practice serves the whole region from two spots. The Chalfont office sits near central Bucks County. By comparison, the Quakertown office serves the upper part of the county. So care stays close to home no matter where you live. To learn more, you can meet our board-certified pain specialists before your first visit.

Conditions We Treat

Our team treats a wide range of spine, nerve, joint, and muscle problems.

Spine and back.

These include herniated and bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, and chronic back pain. Also, we treat pain that spreads into the legs, such as sciatica.

Nerve.

For example, we care for neuropathy, the numbness, tingling, and burning that often hits the feet. Likewise, we treat nerve pain that travels into the arms or legs.

Joint and muscle.

These include arthritis pain, joint pain, and muscle pain. Similarly, our team helps with pain that lasts after a past surgery.

Our Treatment Approach

Because every patient is different, our care follows a clear order. First, we confirm the cause. Then we start with gentle options. Finally, we use advanced steps only when they fit. The four groups below show how this works.

Non-surgical care.

In most cases, this is where we start. It can include physical therapy, medicine management, and small daily changes that ease strain.

Targeted injections.

These aim pain relief right at the source. For example, spinal injections include Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI), Medial Branch Blocks, and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA).

Regenerative medicine.

For some patients, regenerative therapies support healing rather than just block pain. Examples include Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and advanced disc care.

Minimally invasive procedures.

In select cases, small implants ease pain without open surgery. For instance, our team performs the Minuteman procedure and Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) in the office.

Research-Supported Treatments

Each treatment below targets a clear problem. In fact, published research backs each one. Still, our team keeps expectations realistic and tied to the evidence.

Spinal Injections

Swelling around a spinal nerve often causes sharp, spreading pain. To treat it, our team places targeted injections under real-time X-ray guidance (fluoroscopy). As a result, the medicine reaches the exact sore spot. These injections can lower swelling and give many patients a real window of relief. Also, precise guidance makes each procedure safer.

Outpatient. It does not usually need general anesthesia.

The Minuteman Procedure

Lumbar spinal stenosis narrows the spinal canal and presses on the nerves. So many patients feel leg pain that gets worse with walking and eases with sitting. To treat this, Dr. Bozak performs the Minuteman procedure, a small implant that gently lifts the bones apart. In fact, it takes about 35 minutes through a one-inch cut, and most patients go home the same day.

Outpatient. It does not usually need general anesthesia.

Regenerative Disc Treatment

Degenerative disc disease wears down the cushioning discs of the spine over time. For the right patients, our team offers the ViaDisc procedure, a quick injection guided by X-ray. Because it is outpatient, most patients go home the same day.

Outpatient. It does not usually need general anesthesia.

Neuropathy and Nerve Pain

Nerve damage often causes numbness, tingling, or burning in the feet and lower legs. To find the cause, our team can run in-office testing, including a small skin biopsy that counts nerve fibers in the skin (intraepidermal nerve fiber density, or IENFD). As a result, care can target the real source, not just the symptoms.

Outpatient. It does not usually need general anesthesia.
