Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative medicine treatment that uses concentrated platelets derived from the patient’s own blood. Platelets contain growth factors and signaling proteins that play a critical role in tissue healing and repair.

During treatment, a small blood sample is drawn and processed using a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich portion of the blood. The PRP is then precisely injected into the injured or painful area using ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance when appropriate.

What Is PRP Therapy?

Permanent Implantation

Permanent SCS implantation is an outpatient procedure performed under fluoroscopic guidance. The leads are precisely positioned at the target spinal level, and the pulse generator is implanted through a small incision. The entire procedure typically takes between one and two hours. Most patients return home the same day and resume light daily activities within one to two weeks.

Importantly, the procedure is reversible. If a patient’s circumstances change, or if the therapy is no longer providing adequate relief, the device can be removed or reprogrammed accordingly.
